CAIRO: Unbeaten champions Al Ahli will meet perennial rivals Zamalek in Friday s Egyptian Cup final after both sides triumphed in their respective semi-final matches. Al Ahli s, who have not lost in a domestic competition for two seasons, beat Haras Al-Hodoud 1-0 on Tuesday thanks to international defender Mohamed Abdelwahab s 40th-minute free kick. Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Moncef saved a penalty and then scored the decisive kick as his side beat Ismailia 4-2 in a shootout after a 1-1 draw in their semi-final in Cairo. Friday s final will be the 20th time the two arch rivals meet to decide the Egyptian Cup. Al Ahli have won the cup 33 times and Zamalek 20. The game also pits two Portuguese coaches against each other. Manuel Jose has already delivered the league title for Al Ahli, who finished 14 points ahead of second placed Zamalek, while Manuel Cajuda is likely to take charge of his last game before returning home.
