Enjoy the service of Sharm El-Sheikh s Four Seasons Resort

SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt: If you are in need of a relaxing, high quality vacation, look no further than the Four Seasons Resort in Sharm El-Sheikh, offering you pretty much anything you desire and more.

The Moroccan architectural design of the clustered 200 rooms is beautifully set up around a small hill. Eighteen thousand palm trees are scattered throughout, decorating the off-white resort, which is premeditated from sea not land.

Besides the aesthetically pleasing experience, be ready to be pampered like no place else in Egypt. This resort is all about good service, good service and more good service.

Unfortunately there is no airport shuttle, but if you notify the hotel of your plane s arrival time, they will send you a car and driver to bring you to the resort, which is located right next to the airport.

On arrival, check-in is swift and you are offered fresh juices and wet refreshment towels, the first of many you will encounter throughout your stay.

The hotel isn’t too big, making walking around a pleasure, except of course in midday heat. You have two choices, the Funicular that goes up and down the hill from reception to pool-side or you can call the concierge and they’ll send you a golf cart straight away.

There are many variations of guest rooms and suites, but no room is really “standard. Rooms are around 60 square meters and each features a living area with a sofa and a big comfortable master bed. The bathrooms are spacious and feature a big tub, separate glass shower and toilet compartment.

The television offers many satellite channels with a variety of movies, TV-shows, sports and cartoons in various languages. The television sets, although quite wide, are a bit primitive and seem out of place with the other up-to-date equipment that characterizes the hotel.

A major highlight would have to be the walk-in closet, giving a great deal of space for all your attires and accessories.

Not all rooms have a sea view, but the fountains and greenery provide a beautiful alternative. The rooms balconies and terraces could also be made more private to avoid the peeking eyes of passers by.

The suites are even plusher than the rooms. The one-bedroom suites offer a plunge pool in the terrace and the room is about double the size with a separate living room and a guest bathroom in addition to the norm. A DVD player and CD player are also available.

The family suites feature two bedrooms and more facilities, like a washing machine and dryer to accommodate long staying guests.

The presidential suite is like a private estate, with a magnificent view and its own medium sized pool. Although there are only two bedrooms, the space is much bigger than other rooms and the furniture and décor are even more lush. The view is breathtaking with a wide shot of sea and greenery from all angles.

The royal suite, there is only one in the hotel, has three bedrooms, a larger pool and its own private beach, definitely designed for kings and queens. The view is the same as the presidential suite. All rooms are kept spick and span at all times.

All guests often stay at the resort all through their stay as there is the availability of almost everything, there is no need to move.

The open-buffet breakfast is available until 11:30 a.m., so for those who like to take their holidays easy, you don’t have to get out of bed before 11:00 a.m. The buffet combines international and traditional Egyptian dishes. The fresh juice and the cup of coffee or tea are constantly being refilled during the meal.

Now off to the pool. The biggest one (1,000 square meters) is practically on the beach. The beautiful layout includes an island bar in the pool and private canvas cabanas around it, for those who can’t take the sun for too long.

If you prefer the sea, there is one disadvantage. As this area is full of coral reefs, you cannot walk into the see, and must jump off a jetty. This does not take out of the beach fun, especially as you can snorkel almost on the shore and explore the stunning and colorful underwater life through a 5 to 15 meter deep drop.

On both the pool and the beach, there is no music blaring, which is a pleasure to some but a drawback to others.

Often throughout the day, complimentary fresh juice and fruits are passed around. A cheerful staff member passes around spraying you with your choice of Evian, lemon or sea water or to give you those little wet towels. They also offer to clean your sunglasses.

To keep your drinks cold, each person gets a Colman. Everything you want to keep cool is put in it, which is the perfect solution to slavish anything from the heat.

Lunch and dinner live up to expectation. Arabesque (Mediterranean, Moroccan and Lebanese specialties), Reef Grill (barbecued items), pool bar restaurants (salads, Asian-influenced and Mexican- influenced) and the top-notch Il Frantoio (Italian) are the main restaurants offering all types of cuisines. Of course, a 24-hour room service menu is available.

A place some may easily miss is the Observatory Lounge. This is a glass area overlooking the sea with fresh AC weather, which is a great place to escape the strong sun without actually missing on the outdoors.

A well equipped spa, the Daniela Steiner Beauty and Wellness Spa offers all kinds of treatments and massages for those who want ultimate relaxation. Gym and tennis facilities are also available.

Besides the beauty, the facilities and the luxury, what really set the Four Seasons Resort apart from other hotels is the extremely attentive service. If you are cold in the evening you are offered a pashmina to keep you warm; if you are hot in the morning you are given wet towels if you are being attacked my mosquitoes you are given mosquito repellant, and so on.

When you stay at the hotel long enough, the staff starts to remember your name and wherever you go you are greeted personally. These small but effective touches make the hotel more than a pleasure to stay at, where every guest feels like they are royalty.
