CAIRO: The Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC) is organizing a photo exhibit titled “In Love of Photography , by Moustafa Al-Shershaby, Sayed Al-Mahgoob, Ahmed Abdul Aziz and Mona Abdul Karim.
The photos introduce Islamic Cairo. Its nights, people and folklore all conveyed through the artists’ eyes. The four artists are members of the Egypt Salon of Photography. They have participated in many exhibitions by the Salon at Sawy Culture Center, the Music Library at the Cairo Opera House and Al-Hanager Arts Center.
Al-Shershaby’s interest began 40 years ago. He loves Islamic Cairo and prefers taking pictures of mosques and prominent examples of Islamic architecture that reveal Islamic civilization.
Al-Mahgoob has been practicing photography since 1989 and says, “I can express myself better through photos. In 2006 he won first place in a competition held by the Arab union of Photography in Germany.
Abdul Aziz loves photography so much that he changed careers from accounting in order to pursue his passion full time. Abdul Karim graduated from the Faculty of Al-Alsun in 2001 and has been practicing her art ever since. Agencies
