CAIRO: A Turkish tanker rammed into a quay at the port of Alexandria Tuesday, destroying part of the structure and causing $12 million (LE 68.9 million) worth of damage, authorities said.
Initial investigations indicated the empty tanker Massen Acar may have been traveling too fast when it entered the Mediterranean port to dock, they said.
The Alexandria prosecutor s office fined its owner LE 69 million, the estimated cost of repairing the quay. AFP
