CAIRO: Chemical gases have poisoned seven Egyptian workers and 12 Korean and seven Egyptian workers outside of Cairo, police said Friday.

The 19 people were working at a motorcycle manufacturing plant in Giza when they inhaled the toxic gases from a nearby chemical factory Thursday night, according to a police official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

The workers were rushed to nearby hospital for treatment.

None of the injuries appeared life threatening, the official said.
