Sfaxien captain Anis Boujelbene said on Thursday that his side is capable of beating Ahly in Cairo in the first leg of the African Champions League finals despite admitting the difficulty of the encounter.

Sfaxien are playing for victory, Boujelbene told Tunisian paper Essahafa.

We studied Ahly very well and became ready to stun them on their home pitch.

Sfaxien left Tunisia earlier on Thursday, three days ahead of the anticipated clash in the Cairo International Stadium.

The two teams have clashed before in the group stage of this season s tournament.

Sfaxien won at home 1-0 before losing 2-1 in Cairo in a mouthwatering game that gave the Tunisians an idea about what the final might be like.

Despite acknowledging the difficulty of the game, the international midfielder said determination would pave their way to the title.

We are aware of the challenge waiting us in Cairo but with concentration and spirit we can win it, Boujelbene said.

Boujelbene s teammate Chadi Hammami was more specific as he said that stopping Ahly s attacking force would be the key.

Our hopes depend on whether we can or cannot mark Ahly s dangerous men because Ahly will attack from the starting whistle, he said.

The African and Egyptian champions have found the net 22 times in their campaign so far.

International playmaker Mohamed Abu Treika tops the scorers’ list with six goals while Angolan striker Flavio has netted four.

We know how to deal with Ahly s attacking intentions, Hammami said.

If we managed to grab a positive result in Cairo, the trophy will be just two weeks away when we play the second leg back home.
