British airliner leaving Egypt makes emergency landing in Greece

ATHENS: A Boeing 767-200 aircraft with 183 passengers on board belonging to the British airline XL made an emergency landing late Saturday at Athens, a Greek airport official said. The pilot of the aircraft, flying from Egypt to London s Gatwick airport, asked Greek authorities to land at Athens airport after developing a problem with one of the plane s two engines, the source said. Another aircraft from the airline was expected to arrive in Athens within hours to bring the passengers to their destination.
