CAIRO: In a bid to strengthen relations and increase dialogue, a group of socialist politicians arrived yesterday to meet with government officials, academics and activists.
In addition to scheduled meetings with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abul Gheit, the European delegation, which includes the former French Prime Minister Michel Rocard, will sit down with Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa and Boutros Boutros Ghali, chairman of National Council for Human Rights.
The meeting is in line with the EU’s Euro-Mediterranean partnership and the European Neighborhood policy, which aim to expand the Europe’s sphere of cooperation with non-member states.
