Secretary General of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) Safwat Sherif said President Hosni Mubarak looks forward to a lengthy and detailed dialogue on the constitutional amendments in an effort to reach a national consensus, reported the State Information Service on Wednesday.
During the ruling NDP s Secretariat General Meeting, Sherif stated that the nation is at the “threshold of a significant phase of Egypt s political and constitutional development, added the report.
Assistant Secretary General of the ruling NDP, Gamal Mubarak, reviewed a report on the Secretariat General s efforts exerted along the previous period. He said that the proposed amendments represent a shift in the perspective of the political reform program. Earlier this week, the NDP Secretariat General has already approved a plan of partisan action regarding the constitutional amendments President Hosni Mubarak is due to submit.
