CAIRO: Get the sheep ready, Eid is one day sooner than expected.
Egypt’s Dar El Iftaa, the local authority in charge of observing the lunar cycle, and the Higher Judicial Council in Saudi Arabia have announced that the Eid Al Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) will fall on Saturday Dec. 30.
Although astronomical calculations indicated the first day of the Hijri month to be Friday, Dec. 22, the Saudi Council announced otherwise.
