CAIRO: Zamalek manager Henri Michel hit out at predecessor Manuel Cajuda, accusing him of failing to prepare the players physically for such a long season.
Michel told FilGoal.com that he is not used to criticizing his predecessors but the players disappointing form can only be blamed on the Portuguese.
The veteran French coach said that repeated injuries hitting players like Hazem Emam, Amr Zaki, Ahmed Hossam and Alaa Abdul-Ghani are due to lack of preparation.
Cramps and pains in calf, hamstrings and groin muscles became common between Zamalek players throughout the season.
Michel said he didn t demand signing any new players because he is still evaluating the current squad.
He said he still needs more time to assess the players and determine which positions need reinforcement.
Former France manager Michel took over earlier in January, replacing Cajuda, who has been sacked due to poor results.
