So, guess which game is a runaway hit with folks of all generation in my part of the world.

No, it’s not lacrosse, football or picking ticks from your best friend’s scalp with homemade tweezers.

Hanging.

Yes, hanging is the number one game in the Middle East. And beheading comes a rank second. In fact, beheadings are no longer the vids of choice on YouTube or any of the other websites we all hold dear to our hearts.

Beheadings seem to have gone out of style, oh . some time in 2005.

Now, hanging has captured the imagination of children around the world. Wasn’t there some poor tyke in Pakistan who hanged himself after seeing the execution of Saddam Hussein?

And I think there was another child victim in Algeria who also wanted to play the role of deposed leader.

What happened to scrabble or tarneeb, the famous Arab card game?

Hell, even teach your kids poker, I don’t care but for the love of God quit letting them watch this snuff porn. And it is snuff porn. There are those – civilians and governments alike – who seem to derive a perverse pleasure from watching these kinds of images.

And what kind of world are we building for our grandchildren when their parents – our children – are being subjected to this at the touch of their fingertips on the internet.

Information superhighway? More like highway buffoonery. Yes, regulate the damned internet. Regulate the television screens.

No more Columbine, no more TV violence. No more Samurai Jack on the Cartoon Network. A samurai who beheads enemies and demons and all kinds of monstrosities.

This is our future?

Marshall McLuhan are you reading my column? Your global village is a global gutter.

On crack.

I am switching my computer off. And my television. Wake me up if Bougy we Tamtam come back on.
