Cairo: A girl in a wheel chair, who was used by her mother to beg in Al Azbakiya, burst into tears and jumped from the chair, confessing that she was not handicapped as her mother claimed, Al Gomhoriya reported. The fraud was exposed as a high-ranking police officer who checked on security in the area, ran into a woman that pushed a wheel chair on which she seated her daughter, claiming she suffered from paralysis. She told him she was begging to help herself and daughter receive medical care, but the officer who became suspicious as the beggar trembled, started talking to the girl who in turn collapsed into a fit of temper, stood up and confessed that she was not a handicapped person. In a different case another woman was arrested in the same area after she was caught using her daughter to beg while carrying a blood bag. She had managed to gain LE 65 in one hour.
