Commentary: A Nuclear-free Middle East: Amen

Just because Iran and Israel are endangering the planet by pursuing nuclear energy, doesn t give Egypt and its neighbors the right to pursue these curse of the universe nuclear factories. The people in power in Egypt in 1986 had enough sense to halt their nuclear project after the Chernobyl catastrophe.

The Egyptian government knows that radioactive groundwater from the Chernobyl site will reach the Black Sea in a few years.

The life expectancy being so short in Russia and parts of the former Soviet Union is blamed on alcohol consumption. The scientists, including the ones in Egypt, know it is from the radioactive hot spots scattered throughout Russia and the former Soviet Union. This eventuality must be prevented from happening to the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia, Libya, Jordan, and others are saying they want these earth destroying factories. President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt says it s a right for the Arabs.

No group of humans has the right to endanger the creator s planet with nuclear factories.

After already experiencing genocide with six million Jews murdered in the 1930s and 40s, it is incomprehensible that Israel wants to ensure future annihilation by putting a nuclear factory on its soil.

Renewable energy replacing nuclear power and fossil fuels starts today. The Arab world and Israel must remove all nuclear power from the region. It is complete camel dung to claim nuclear energy is safe and cheap.

There is nothing safe about nuclear energy. Just like the slavery drugs and surgery system (there are natural cures for virtually every disease), people must believe the billionaires and corporations that control 80 percent of the world wealth, won t let it be cheap either.

According to the only radical group that is now actively trying to save the planet from nuclear power (they desperately need competition), Egypt has 80 times more renewable energy that it needs, while the government has a renewable energy target of only three percent by 2010.

That fact must change today.

The real shame is the billionaires and their lackeys that run the world know full well all pollution production, including nuclear waste that is impossible to get rid of or store safely, can be replaced with renewable energy by 2015 or sooner.

Instead of concentrating on saving the planet, adding to their wealth by developing the world economy is more important to them.

Praying to the creator seems to be the best solution for us non-billionaires. I pray that the rest of us aren t punished for the people in power that are trying so hard to destroy the planet with nuclear factories.

I pray that through all of the greed, false pride and envy that a nuclear-free Middle East is the end result of people trying to save the creator s planet for future generations.

Amen.
