CAIRO: Zamalek club has suspended forward Gamal Hamza until the end of the season after he protested Henri Michel s decision to consistently keep him out of the starting eleven.
Hamza demanded explanation from Michel over his attitude but the French boss refused to answer, telling him that his role is just to play not to question his manager s decisions.
The 25-year-old handed in a transfer request to Zamalek board, citing his continuous problems with Michel as a reason for his frustration.
As a result, the technical staff has decided to suspend his dues and ban him from playing until the end of the season.
Hamza has been a key substitute for Zamalek this season, making impact in almost every match he was introduced in.
After his excellent performances, the talented forward was expected to be included in the staring line-up for Faisali clash in the Arab Champions League but he was kept on the substitutes bench.
The incident was the straw that broke the camel back after Zamalek were knocked out of the Arab s premier competition
