CAIRO: The Cairo Marriott Hotel recently celebrated the opening of three new villas that Cairo Marriott renovated at the SOS village for homeless children and orphans.
The SOS village houses villas where groups of children stay with a female supervisor, whom they refer to as their mother.
Cairo Marriott Hotel renovated villas number 7, 11, and 20.
Each villa features three big bedrooms. Two with two beds where each one is wide enough for two people and one with a king size bed that can take up to three people.
The villas also include two bathrooms, a living room, dining room and a kitchen.
The event was attended by the General Manger of Cairo Marriott Hotel, Ulrich Huth, Areej Mohi Eldin, country director of marketing communication for Marriott Egypt hotels, and Mamdouh Rated, director of engineering.
Warda, a 10-year-old guest of the village told The Daily Star Egypt that villa number 20 was beautiful, especially the bathrooms.
But 9-year-old Hayam, another child at the village, liked the kitchen of villa number 20.
SOS Egypt is one part of SOS International charity foundation, which is considered to be the world’s largest charity organization, operating in more than 130 countries.
The village welcomes volunteers who would like to do anything for the children. Everyone is allowed to enter the village and spend time with the children at any time.
