Once again the Pharaohs failed to convert their domination into goals as they were held by Kuwait to a 1-1 draw, Tuesday in a friendly held in Kuwait.
Bashar Abdullah opened the scoring just ten minutes after the kick off before in-form Mahmoud Abdul-Razek Shikabala leveled the score in the 56th minute.
The Egyptians had the upper hand in the game in term of possession and chances but failed to deal with the Kuwaiti fast counters as Abdullah got through the shaky defense twice. Once saved by keeper Essam Al-Hadari but he had to foul him in the second.
The Kuwaiti striker put his team ahead after scoring from the spot.
Mohamed Aboutrika came close from an equalizer as he curled in a well placed shot but the hosts keeper made an excellent stretch to keep his clean sheet.
The post denied a powerful strike from Emad Meteb and Gamal Hamza failed to send in the rebound.
Abou-Treika had to leave the game just before the break for injury.
We had to wait for the 56th minute to get a second goal as substitute Mohamed Ibrahim put Shikabala in the area and the latter stroke to make it finally 1-1.
The Pharaohs could have won the game if they only managed to score one of the dozen chances offered that even Meteb blasted the ball over the bar while he was face to face with the goalie.
