Inter-Build showcases over 1,000 companies

CAIRO: The 14th International Conference and Exhibition for Building and Construction, Inter-Build, kicked off on June 21 at the Cairo International Conference Center, where over 1,000 companies displayed their products in their uniquely designed booths.

Inter-Build is an attempt at discovering ways of conducting discussions regarding development projects and how to achieve that kind of construction, said Salah Hegab, general trustee of the conference.

Ahmed Anis, head of the scientific department at the conference, said that Inter-Build is an indicator of a better future for the industry, among which are the increased rates of participation from outside Egypt, Gulf countries taking initiative towards construction development and increase in the execution of new sites.

Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif attended the opening of the exhibition, which will be continue till June 25.

Participating in the exhibition for the first time is part of our 25-year celebration of being a pioneer and leader in the business, said Chantal Rutter, communications director of Group Cleopatra.

Rutter added that the exhibition was a way for the company to show its variety of tiles, to leave their stamp in the market and to showcase the quality of their products to the construction market.

DuPont has been in Egypt for a while but nobody knows about it because the company does not produce end-products, said Ashraf Salah, part of DuPont s trading and contracting company, Egytact, The exhibition allows us to achieve recognition and increase our market share, he said.

Ashraf Afify, production engineer of Elsewedy Giza Cables, said that the company participates in the exhibition annually but that this is the first time different electricity and cable companies came together as an energy group.

Afify added that the importance of the Energya Cables booth is to attract people who are interested in electricity, which will increase their business.

Locally we re the biggest sanitary company but not a lot of people know this, said Louay Kosber, marketing director of Lecico, We re starting to pay more attention to the local market and show the Egyptian consumer what Lecico is.

Kosber added that today you cannot expect to increase your market size right after participating in an exhibition, but that it is a matter of maintaining your image and standards so that a consumer recognizes your company after the exhibition.
