PLC International and Corinex Communications announced today that they have won the bid for a Powerline based Smart Village in Cairo. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) chose PLC International Inc. integrating Corinex equipment after two RFP processes and extensive technology evaluation. Phase one comprises of three Buildings interconnected over the Medium Voltage Power Lines at 11 KV and 100 users thru multi-dwelling units. VoIP, video and internet are the services to be provided to the selected users.
We re looking to build a Smart Village, and the technology requirements outlined in the RFP were very strict and demanding, said Samy, MCIT s under secretary.
We were surprised that three of the four companies bidding quoted Corinex BPL equipment and each finished in the top three, with Current Technologies finishing fourth. In the end we chose PLC International as the best integrator of Corinex for this project, he added.
