Substitute Sofiane Younes came off the bench in the 82nd minute to score the wining goal three minutes later as Algeria clinched a precious 2-1 victory over the Egyptian Olympic team on Tuesday.
It was the opening game of the 2007 All African Games currently held in Algeria.
Hadj Bougueche broke the deadlock with a 66th-minute header. Three minutes later the Egyptians leveled the score thanks to a 30-yard rocketing drive from Amr Halawani.
The game remained so close until Younes came into action to put the Algerians ahead again five minutes before the game ended.
Now, Algeria is temporarily on top of group B, which also includes also Guinea and Zambia.
