CAIRO: Engineering graduates of different universities in Egypt exhibited their most creative graduation projects in celebration of sixth annual Egyptian Engineering Day (EEG) Monday.

This year the event had the motto of Your Next Step, and aimed to encourage all engineering graduates to start inventing small innovative projects and also to benefit from the organized workshops which taught them how to finance their projects.

In the two-day event that took place at the Cairo Conference Center, 260 students participated and exhibited 150 graduation projects.

According to Mohamed Abu El Dahab, the head of the organizing committee of the EEG, eight private and 13 public universities displayed their projects. He said the event provided 76 job opportunities for the graduates and 21 offers to buy the projects exhibited.

Minister of Communications Tarek Kamel attended the closing ceremony to distribute prizes and rewards for the best graduation projects of engineering graduates of Cairo, Helwan and Menufiya Universities.

In his speech, Kamel thanked all attendees and expressed his gratitude to all professors and experts in the field of engineering and communication, who had exerted noticeable effort to pass on their knowledge to the younger generation.

I feel so happy about the enthusiasm of the youth here . This day shows the significant connection taking place in the field of telecommunication. It also implies that this field is a dynamic one distinguished by the spirit of giving, said Kamel.

Kamel advised the graduates to expand their horizons of knowledge and never stop at what they acquired from their university studies.

The bachelors are not the end of the road. It is just a starting point. We won t be able to contribute to society without gaining more and more skills which will enable us to add and interact with every single new thing around us, said Kamel.
