CAIRO: The monthly business show “CNN Business Traveller will be sponsored by the Artoc group after an agreement was signed by the Egyptian company and CNN International.

The deal also includes a multimedia advertising campaign, with TV advertising on the international news channel and online adverts on the CNN International website, with exclusive advertising on the show’s micro-site.

The show, hosted by CNN anchor Richard Quest, covers many facets of the traveling entrepreneur and offers advice on how business executives can maintain their lifestyle on the go.

“We are delighted that Artoc has chosen CNN for its first international campaign. We offer a bespoke multi-media package that reaches their target business audience, Rani R. Raad, vice president of ad sales at CNN International said, “which emphasises our dedication to enabling our clients to reach the ‘global citizen’ across a range of platforms.

Mohammed Shafik Gabr, chairman of Artoc Group said, “We’re extremely pleased to be associated with CNN Business Traveller, one of the network’s most watched and respected programs.

“Artoc’s association with this leading international business travel program reflects our firm commitment to seek out profitable business and investment opportunities, wherever in the world they might exist. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with CNN and CNN Business Traveller, he added.

Formed in the mid-70s, Artoc has a variety of business ventures in Egypt, namely in real estate.

Artoc signed a partnership with the UAE-based Emaar Properties last year to form Emaar Egypt, which recently announced plans to develop four real estate projects in Egypt. The first and largest development is Uptown Cairo, which will cost $2.1 billion. In addition, Emaar will develop Cairo Gate, Marassi Resort on the North Coast and another residential community in New Cairo City.

Artoc sold their take to the Dubai firm earlier this year after differences between the partners, and much mud-slinging in the press.

The company then announced the formation of the newly launched Artoc Universal Properties, in partnership with Universal Builders Supply, Inc of the USA and John Cushman, chairman of Cushman and Wakefield.

CNN International broadcasts to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, South Asia and Japan.
