CAIRO: Ittihad playmaker Youssef Hamdi has been suspended by the club for one match and fined LE 20,000, following his furious reaction to being substituted in a friendly against Ahli Benghazi on Sunday.
Hamdi was in rage when coach Mohamed Salah took him off 25 minutes after his half-time introduction in the 2-1 win over the Libyan side.
“Hamdi was fined LE 20,000 and he will be suspended from the Tersana game on Friday, said Ittihad football director Sayed Karawan.
Moreover, Karawan revealed that the former Zamalek midfielder has been involved in a dressing room bust-up with veteran skipper Hossam Hassan.
Hamdi, who has an edgy relationship with new coach Salah, questioned the board’s decision to hire the latter for the Alexandria-based club job.
