CAIRO: Ismaili sacked manager Taha Basri early on Tuesday after the 4-4 home draw with Ittihad Alexandria.
The board of directors decided to sack both Basri and football director Sayed Abdel Razeq in an urgent meeting following the game, according to Ismaili Vice Chairman Ibrahim Ashour.
Ismaili President Yehia Al-Koumi is in Saudi Arabia and he approved the decision by phone.
He will be back in Egypt in the next few days and will be leading the club s negotiations to sign a new manager.
Basri was appointed one week before the Egyptian League kick-off in August, succeeding Frenchman Patrice Neveu.
The former Enppi boss enjoyed a successful debut, beating Zamalek in the league opener 1-0 in Cairo.
However, Ismaili suffered a string of poor results, placing them in fourth spot with 11 points, six behind leaders Al Ahly, but with a game in hand.
