CAIRO: Mohamed Farid Khamis, the chairman of the board of Oriental Weavers Group, said Tuesday’s fire will not cause a delay in production and all clients’ orders will be delivered on time.
The fire took place at the Ramses Factory for Carpets – located in the Tenth of Ramadan City – in one of 25 buildings belonging to the Oriental Weavers International Company, which is under the Oriental Weavers Group.
The blaze was brought under control with the help of a firefighting unit from the Armed Forces and Ministry of Petroleum.
A working group comprised of Oriental Weavers management, local authorities and the insurance company will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and assess the damages, said Khamis. They will submit a report with the results.
The flames ran through a department which makes up around 8.5-10 percent of the company’s total production capacity. However, clients’ requests have been input into the system again and orders have been sent out to respective departments in the company to ensure that there is no delay in production.
