CAIRO: Mido should be ready to take part in Middlesbrough s Premiership clash against Chelsea on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring injury, coach Gareth Southgate said.

Mido has trained this week and provided there is no reaction he should be ready for Saturday, Southgate told the club s official website.

The 24-year-old striker initially picked up the injury during Boro s match against Sunderland before aggravating it in the 2-0 defeat to Everton.

Mido missed the 3-1 loss to Manchester City as well as Egypt s 1-0 win over Botswana in the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has never scored against Chelsea but was sent-off in Spurs 2-0 defeat to Blues in 2005 after referee Rob Styles adjudged him to have elbowed Asier Del Horno.

Southgate will be also boosted by the return of Mido s striking partner Tuncay while Jeremie Aliadiere is doubtful for Chelsea match due to illness.
