CAIRO: Egypt are set to play four friendlies against African teams ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Ghana in January.

Egypt trainer Hamada Sedki said the team will prepare for the big event by facing four teams, who will be competing in the Ghana finals.

We will play four friendlies between Jan. 3 and Jan. 16, we will mainly focus on teams participating in the competition, Sedki told FilGoal.com.

We are looking forward to play half of them at home but we should take into consideration the schedule of other teams.

The African champions will kick-off their title-defending campaign against Cameroon in Group C, which also includes Zambia and Sudan.

On the other hand, Sedki revealed that the 22-man squad for the Pan Arab Games, which will start in Egypt next month, will be announced soon.

The team will rely on reserve players, looking to establish their place in the Pharaohs squad ahead of CAN 2008.
