CAIRO: Ittihad handed their players LE 5,000 fine each due to poor results in the league but promised them big bonuses should they beat Aluminum and Enppi, the club said.

The Alexandria side lost to Baladeya 2-0 on Friday to move down to the basement of the league with four points from eight games.

The board of directors will meet with manager Mohamed Salah to discuss the reasons of the team s form later this week.

Salah took over as Ittihad manager just four games into the season, succeeding Mohamed Omar.

Meanwhile, the club said that an inquiry will be launched over the absence of veteran striker Hossam Hassan.

The 41-year-old forward left the team without permission to attend a charity game in UAE.
