CAIRO: Konyaspor midfielder Mohamed Abdullah said he was approached by his former club Ahly in an attempt to lure him in January.
I received phone calls from Ahly officials expressing their interest, I will meet with them in the upcoming period for negotiating a January move, Abdullah told FilGoal.com.
However, Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi remained coy over Abdullah s claims as he refused to concede that talks are ongoing.
Abdullah is a fine player and he is welcomed back at any time, but I cannot confirm any negotiations with him, he said.
The pacey winger is set to leave Turkish side Konya this winter, but he is yet to decide on his next destination.
I have an offer from Standard Liege, Zamalek are also interested, so I have some good options to choose from, he added.
I will consider my options until January, but it is almost certain I am leaving Konya.
