CAIRO: Egypt have overtaken first place from Tunisia in the Pan Arab Games after collecting eight gold medals in the second day.
Egypt is tied with Tunisia with 12 gold medals and 11 bronze. But the host nation have 10 silver medals, four ahead of their North-African rivals.
Three gold medals in a row came from the swimming competition, as Egyptians dominated the 50m Freestyle for men and women, as well 100m women Backstroke.
The Judo team collected two more gold medals for 83KG and 71KG, so did the shooting team.
The eighth medal came from fencing after Egyptian duo Tamer Tahoon and Mostafa Nagati met in the final, and the latter clinched gold.
