CAIRO: Egypt coach Hassan Shehata agreed to let Wael Gomaa skip the remaining matches of the Pan Arab Games so he could join Qatari side Al-Siliya.Gomaa is on loan to Al Siliya from Al Ahly.

I will return to Port Saied to be officially given the permission before moving back to Qatar, Gomaa told FilGoal.com on Monday.

The combative defender will miss Egypt s match against Libya on Wednesday as well as the tournament finale with Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

However, he will be available for the Pharaohs training camp prior to the African Cup of Nations.

Many Africans play in Qatar so the Gulf country will compress the league s schedule in order to finish the competition before the action starts in Ghana.

Gomaa, who finalized a six-month loan deal with Al-Siliya, is determined to help the newly-promoted side prove themselves in the top flight.

Al-Siliya put on good displays in the first half of the season. They need to do the same in the coming period to compete for top places, the 32-year-old said.

Al-Siliya are eighth in the league table with 10 points, six behind second-placed Al-Sadd
