CAIRO: Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi revealed Thursday that they are interested in signing Baladeya striker Hani Al-Egeizi.
We have contacted Baladeya president Mahmoud Al-Shami regarding a possible move for Al-Egeizi, Al-Qaeyi told Egyptian TV.
The 22-year-old striker, who came through Zamalek youth ranks, scored six goals so far for the newly-promoted Baladeya, who occupy 13th place in the league table.
He lies second in the scorers top chart, trailing Petrojet striker Alaa Ibrahim by four goals.
Meanwhile, Al-Qaeyi said Ahli will not make a move to bring back Ibrahim Saied to the club unless he shows commitment.
The Ankaragucu unsettled defender left Ahli in bitter circumstances in 2004, joining the Red Devils arch-rivals Zamalek.
Al-Qaeyi also commented on speculation linking Ahli with a move to Petrojet s in-form winger Osama Mohamed.
We made an offer in the close season but it was turned down, he said.
Ahli will face Petrojet soon in the league so it is inappropriate to make a new approach in the coming weeks.
Surprise package Petrojet are second in the league table with 22 points, one short of leaders Al-Gaish, who played an extra match.
Defending champions Ahli lie third on 18 points and have two matches in hand.
