CAIRO: Al Ahly striker Osama Hosni will be out of action for at least two weeks after picking up a thigh injury during the Reds 1-0 win over Al-Gaish on Friday, Al Ahly’s official site said.
Hosni capped a rare start for Manuel Jose s team with the only goal of the game, but he was substituted shortly before half-time after the injury.
Al Ahly team doctor Ehab Ali confirmed that the Egypt international has a thigh strain, which should keep him out of action for at least 15 days.
Hosni s injury means that the 26-year-old will miss the next two games against Suez Cement and Baladeyt Al Mahalla before the 2008 African Cup of Nations break.
The Egyptian champions will also miss Mohamed Abou-Treika, Emad Al-Nahhas and Hossam Ashour against Cement, in addition to the injured Mohamed Barakat.
