CAIRO: Hilal striker Godwin Ndubuisi has decided to join Tunisia s Etoile Sahel, favoring the African champions over Al Ahly, according to Sudanese reports.
The Nigerian hot shot has been pursued by Africa s top two, and Egyptian champions Al Ahly officially declared their interest this week.
Earlier reports in Sudan had suggested that Al Ahly are closer to clinching Godwin s signature as the Reds made an approach to Hilal first.
However, Goal newspaper claimed that the 23-year-old preferred the Tunisian league, which he believes to be a “better option for foreign strikers.
Moreover, the paper said that Hilal will make a final decision on Monday after Etoile raised their bid to $1.2 million, against Al Ahly’s $1 million.
Godwin led Sudanese champions Hilal to the Champions League semi-finals this year, scoring eight goals in the competition.
