CAIRO: Twenty-eight year old Ayman Awadallah confessed to the murder of his relative, Gihan Hassan Mohamed, following a heated argument over LE 200 that were missing from a loan Awadallah was paying back to the victim, reported Al Akhbar newspaper.
Mohamed, 27, had sold some of her jewelry to lend the assailant LE 2,000. When it was time to return the money, he only gave back LE1,800 and asked if he could give back the rest later.
The victim allegedly lost her temper, triggering a violent quarrel with Awadallah. She fell, hit her head against the wall and died of a fractured skull.
To make sure that she’s dead, Awadallah strangled her then stole her money and jewelry and fled the scene.
The victim’s body was discovered by her husband, who reported the tragic incident to the police.
The police arrested the killer based on witness reports claiming that Awadallah was the last one to visit the victim at home.
