The Ahli midfielder has recovered from his knee surgery, but needs further checks because he is experiencing pains again.
Egypt manager Hassan Shehata had to drop Barakat from his initial and final squads for the African Cup of Nations due to this injury. Barakat will be accompanied by assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri, who is set for a knee surgery himself.
