Pantene, a leading worldwide brand for hair products, recently announced renowned Egyptian actress Mona Zaki as their new brand ambassador in the Middle East.

During a press conference at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel, Mohamed Samir, vice president and general manager of Procter & Gamble, said Pantene’s mission is to make women shine in everything they do – not just their hair.

Zaki said she was proud to represent a prominent brand such as Pantene. “One thing that I have in common with Pantene is that we both believe that beauty comes from the inside, said Zaki.

She added that she appreciated being able to have her input into what was more suitable for her to present in the marketing campaign, and that Pantene was open to suggestions regarding their print and TV advertisement.

During the press conference, Pantene unveiled Zaki’s first TV ad for the company.

Commenting on the ad, Samir said that “the amount of honesty and credibility that came through is one of the main reasons we chose Mona Zaki as Pantene’s ambassador. During the conference, Zaki emphasized that the financial gains from this campaign were the furthest thing from her mind, and that she accepted Pantene’s offer because she was more interested in the concept behind and the message of the campaign.

She also lauded Pantene for its involvement with more than just outward beauty, citing their campaign for breast cancer where women were encouraged to cut their hair and donate it to make free wigs for breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. “I hope I am able to make a difference for Middle Eastern women, Zaki said.
