CAIRO: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) excluded Rwanda from inter-clubs competitions on Saturday, just few days before Zamalek take on APR in the Champions League.
In a statement on their website, CAF said that Rwanda, among other four countries, failed to fulfill their financial obligations to the confederation.
The executive committee disqualified five countries from participating in CAF inter-clubs competition, the African governing body said.
The countries are Central African Republic, Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Chad.
Zamalek are due to face APR of Rwanda on Saturday in the first-leg of the Champions League preliminary round.
CAF did not clarify whether their decision would apply.
