CAIRO: Zamalek keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef hit out at the team s technical staff after starting the CAF Champions League opener against Rwanda s APR on the bench.

Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed was Ruud Krol s preferable choice between the sticks in Zamalek s 2-1 away victory over APR.

Abdul-Monsef was introduced in the first-half after Al-Sayed picked up a groin injury. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old guardian can t hide his frustration.

I expected to be included in the starting line-up after my return from Ghana, the furious Abdul-Monsef told Goal FM after the match.

I should have regained my place once I returned home following Egypt s African Cup of Nations triumph.

The former Dina Farms keeper played second-fiddle to Essam El-Hadari in Egypt s Nations Cup campaign.

Abdul-Monsef used to be Al-Sayed s stand-in shot-stopper but the latter s persistent injury problems allowed him to step in and become a Zamalek regular member.

He is not willing to give up his place in the team.

There is something wrong in the club, I won t surrender my right. I will oppose the technical staff unexplainable actions, he insisted
