CAIRO: Essam Al-Hadary has promised to accept any decision made by Al Ahly board concerning his controversial move to FC Sion.
An apologetic Hadary appeared in Egypt s most popular TV show Al-Beit Beitak on Saturday, following his return from Switzerland on Friday.
The Egypt guardian made a surprising u-turn to his Sion move, after he attempted to buy-out his Ahly contract without the club s approval.
I returned to Al Ahly because I realized that I shouldn’t have done that, I feel sorry and I am ready to accept any decision by the club, said the 35-year-old.
Playing in Europe is a dream for me, but I refuse to let it happen this way.
Al Ahly was scheduled to open an investigation with Hadary on Sunday, after which the Reds are likely to impose a heavy sanction on the under-fire keeper.
Hadary, who has already signed a three-year-deal with Sion, said he is ready to terminate his contract if Al Ahly ordered him.
Al Ahly had announced that they will not send Al-Hadary s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to FC Sion upon FIFA s request.
FIFA s message implied that Al Ahly should present what proves that Al-Hadary s move to Sion is illegal, otherwise the player is free to join the latter.
Sion s official site claimed that Al-Hadary has only returned to Cairo for clearing up personal matters with Al Ahly officials.
