CAIRO: Seven members of one family were killed Friday when their car plunged into a canal near Nagaa Hammadi, a town 460 km south of Cairo, a senior police official said.

Mohammed Hilal, police chief of Qena province where the town is located, said the car in which the seven were traveling had a burst tire before it flipped and skidded off the road and into a canal.

Police recovered the bodies, according to Hilal, who said all seven victims were males. -AP
