SUEZ: Petrojet and Ismaili shared the points in a thrilling Egyptian League 2-2 draw at Suez Stadium on Sunday.
The home side were 1-0 up after less than one minute when the league s top scorer Alaa Ibrahim met Mohamed Koffi s cross with a delicate volley to beat Mohamed Sobhi.
Ismaili scored a quickfire double at the stroke of half-time as Hosni Abd-Rabou s left-footed shot scraped into the net between the legs of a Petrojet defender, before Moatassem Salem notched in from close range.
Petrojet coach Mokhtar Mokhtar was forced to change goal machine Ibrahim, but substitute Mohamed Farouk managed to score the vital equalizer.
The former Ahly forward deceived Sobhi with a fake pass before steering home skillfully 11 minutes from time.
Substitute striker Zeka Goury should have won the game for Petrojet, but the Ivorian blasted wide from point-blank range.
The draw left Ismaili in second place with 34 points, while Petrojet are one point adrift in fourth place.
In Cairo, Tersana and Ittihad played out a 1-1 draw as the latter failed to get off the bottom of the league table.
Ittihad s Ahmed Hassan cancelled out Ahmed Abdel Maguid s opener for Tersana from the spot.
