CAIRO: Mohamed Ibrahim scored for the second game in a row to fire Zamalek past ENPPI, 1-0, on Monday in an intense game. The Whites jump to the fourth spot with 34 points, two points behind second-placed Al Gaish.

Ruud Krol opted for a 3-4-2-1 formation using Amr Zaki as a lone striker with Mahmoud Shikbala Abdel Razeq and Magdi Atwa moving on the flanks.

The keepers had a lot to do in the first half as Zamalek s Mohamed Abdel Monsef denied a golden opportunity from Ivorian striker Vincent Di Foneye in the 14th minute.

ENPPI s Mostafa Kamal made some heroic stretches to keep his clean sheet against Shikabala and Mahmoud Fathallah s efforts.

With the first half ending goalless, Krol decided to put more pressure on ENPPI s defense and brought into action striker Sherif Ashraf.

The answer came in the 68th minute. Ibrahim broke the deadlock when he met Tarek Al-Sayed s left-wing cross with a powerful header.

Zaki could have doubled the score as he intercepted the ball unmarked in the area but his finish missed the target.

ENPPI ended the game with only 10 men on the pitch as Ayman Saied was shown the red card in the 90th minute for a second offense.
