CAIRO: Premier League duo Ahmed “Mido Hossam (Middlesbrough) and Hossam Ghaly (Derby County) have been dropped from the Egypt squad for the Argentina friendly on March 26.
The Pharaohs boss Hassan Shehata didn t give any further details and said he just needed seven foreign-based players for this game.
Mido missed this year s Nations Cup because of injury while Ghaly went back to England to complete his move to Derby County.
Shehata will announce his 23-man squad on March 20 but sent early call-ups for the foreign-based players. The list includes: Ahmed Hassan (Anderlecht, Belgium), Mohamed Zidan (Hamburg, Germany), Mohamed Shawky (Middlesbrough, England), Wael Gomaa (Al-Siliya, Qatar), Hassan Mostafa (Al-Wehda, KSA), Sayed Moawad (Trabzonspor, Turkey), Ibrahim Saied (Ankaragucu, Turkey).
