CAIRO: Italy s most respected referee Stefano Farina is set to officiate today’s Cairo derby between Al Ahy and Zamalek, the Egyptian Football Association said.
Farina, 45, refereed several high-profile encounters in the Serie A and the Champions League over the past few years.
The highlight of his career was the European Super Cup in 2006 between Barcelona and Sevilla.
He was also in charge of Barcelona-Chelsea and Real Madrid-Arsenal in the Champions League.
Foreign referees have been officiating the most anticipated derby in the Middle East since the 90s.
