ISMAILIYA: Ismaili football director Ali Gheit denied on Sunday that the club has received an offer from Al Ahly to sign Iraqi striker Mostafa Karim.
Ahly have never inquired about the availability of Karim, Gheit told FilGoal.com.
Karim s agent Mohamed Shiha revealed earlier in the day that Ahly have opened talks with his client to sign him next season.
However, Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi firmly denied Shiha’s claims. Gheit also confirmed that Ismaili have no intention of releasing their star.
Karim s agent never informed us that Ahly want to sign the player. We won t sell our striker because he is young and has a bright future ahead of him, the club said.
The 23-year-old frontman has scored eight goals for the Dervishes so far this season. His contract with Ismaili runs out in 2010.
