CAIRO: Middlesbrough striker Mido will undergo a pelvic surgery that will rule him out of action for six weeks, the player’s brother said on Friday.

Mido suffered pelvic pain during Middlesbrough Premiership game against Arsenal, Tamer Wasfi told FilGoal.com.

Middlesbrough medical team told him he has to undergo an operation in order not to aggravate the injury.

The Egyptian frontman, whose season has been blighted by a series of injuries, is unlikely to feature again this season.

Mido scored two goals in 17 appearances for Boro in all competitions.

The 25-year-old was accused of being overweight and has been continuously snubbed by Egypt coach Hassan Shehata for lack of fitness.
