CAIRO: With the support of the South African Government, 347 Land Rovers traveled through Egypt, carrying with them a Scroll of Peace and Goodwill aimed at spreading awareness of Malaria.

The scroll has been signed by both the very poor as well as some of Africa s most powerful, including the Governor of Alexandria, Mr. Adel Labib. The Land Rovers will return the scroll, which has over 5,000 signatures, to Nelson Mandela, when they return to South Africa.

The issue of Malaria is a top concern in Africa, where every minute, three infants succumb to the deadly disease. As part of their journey, the Expedition has provided nets to pregnant women, as well as crucial education to the local populations.

Throughout the trip, the expedition will travel through over 33 African nations using the Land Rovers. A team of expert South African off-roaders, headed by internationally renowned explorer Kingsley Holgate traveled through Egypt.

The mission also highlighted the untapped potential of Egypt s growing off-road touring trend.
