The positions of club vice-president and treasurer have been eliminated from the board of directors, the Higher Council for Sports (HSC) announced on Sunday.

Every elected club board of directors will be made up of six members in addition to a chairman, HCS president Hassan Saqr told a press conference.

If the president is absent for any reason, the board members will choose a person to fill in for him.

The HCS president will have the right to appoint two additional members from a list of five nominations submitted by the club s board.

The new regulations will allow board members to be re-elected even when their term in office ends.

The voters can elect any person for successive periods, Saqr revealed.

Al Ahly had previously expressed their opposition to the new proposals. However, Ismaili and Ittihad expressed their approval with the new charter.

I think it will not affect us. On the contrary, it may be useful for our expenditure, Ismaili board member Sayed Al-Kammash told FilGoal.com.

The decision may have an effect on clubs with higher resources and clubs involved in several sports, but for us, it is only football that matters.

In the same manner, Ittihad board member Sayed Al-Thaalabi expressed the club s satisfaction with the removal of the treasurer post, but refused to comment on the other part of the decision.

It is reasonable to eliminate the treasurer post, but I am not sure about excluding the vice-chairman, he said.
