For the fourth year running, Global Consultants put together yet another impressive fair packed with every tiny detail one might need to get married. On the opening night alone more then 3,000 guests attended the event, and the organizers expect between 10,000-15,000 guests this year.
The three-day event opened its doors on Wednesday evening at the InterContinental City Stars hotel. Many political figures and celebrities were at the opening night to attend the spectacular fashion show for VIPs.
The show featured top local and Lebanese designers including Baheig Hussein, Carina, Eve, Eman Mahrous, Emile Khalaf and Soucha as well as jewelry stores like Damas Jewelry and Azza Fahmy. There was a show of bridal gowns, evening attire for wedding guests, honey moon clothing and even lingerie.
The ball room was transformed to a bride heaven, and divided up according to little vendors. Young couples walked around hand in hand choosing the most suitable details for their wedding.
But the fair is not only useful for those getting married, but also for those interested in buying wedding gifts and evening gowns. It was also lots of fun to walk to check out innovative ideas as variety grows and competition gets fiercer.
Lebanese couple Nasir Chatila and Soha Radwan are the owners of Global Consultants and have brought this event to life for four years.
Radwan told the Daily News Egypt it turned out exactly as we imagined and it received good feedback in that it’s the first time beauty and style are presented in something so grand.
The traditional wedding necessities like the venue, the ring, the photographers and the florists are available in vast amounts. The most fun for those just browsing are the chocolate booths that give out different delights as you pass by.
The large variety of offers include Flower Power (Wedding Planners/ Floral Designs), Pronovias (wedding dresses), Patchi (chocolates) and home decorations like Oriental Weavers, Kalla and Karisma.
One of the sponsors and exhibiters are Damas, an Emiratei jewelry brand founded in 1907 and has been in Egypt since 1999. They have six branches in Egypt which they plan to expand to 20. They sell all types of jewelry from diamond to gold to semi-precious stones in a very distinct Arab style.
Popular wedding dress chain Pronovias joined the exhibit for the first time this year. It is one of the biggest wedding dress chains in Europe and has recently opened a branch in Cairo. The Spanish brand brings together a selection by top international designers (including Elie Saab) and offers a pick of fashionable evening gowns.
“I have many friends who traveled to Paris and Greece just to order their dress from Pronovias before we had a store here, explains store manager Doaa Mostafa. “Now you can save the cost of a trip to Europe and use it to get your dream dress right here in Egypt.
The Wedding Fair is open today and on Friday from 4- 11pm. www.weddingfairegypt.com
